Burhan Seber
Born in Istanbul in 1974, Burhan is a second generation member of a well reputed Turkish family business. Jewelry manufacturers, wholesalers and retailers by origin, Burhan has played an important role in continuing the family’s expansion through the value chain of the diamond industry pipeline, by establishing it firmly in Africa.

Burhan graduated with a BA in International Relations from Emory University in Atlanta. His training in the diamond industry has included all facets of the trade, both in rough and polished, from trading to manufacturing.

In 2001, he was amongst the first handful of diamantaires to embrace the vision of producer countries becoming the future source of competitive rough supply. In pursuit of that vision, Burhan established HSP in Windhoek, Namibia – one of the first diamond cutting and polishing factories in the country. HSP has since pioneered the active promotion of 'beneficiation' in Namibia.

Burhan set up and operated rough buying offices in Brazzaville, Point Noire (Rep. Congo) and Kinshasa (DRC) consecutively, while maintaining HSP’s operations in Namibia.

In 2007, HSP became one of the first Namibian Diamond Trading Company (NDTC) Sightholders. HSP has become an integral part of a now Turkish/Namibian diamond and jewelry enterprise.

In 2008, a founding-member of DIAMAN, Burhan was elected Chairperson of the association set up to represent the Namibian diamond cutting and polishing industry. DIAMAN’s mission is to serve the common interests of its members and to maximize 'beneficiation' in Namibia. He represents DIAMAN internationally through its membership in the International Diamond Manufacturers' Association (IDMA).

In 2012, Burhan was appointed Honorable Consul-Designate to represent the Republic of Turkey in the Erongo Region of Namibia, which became official in 2013.

In 2013, he was appointed to the Namibian Diamond Board, to advise the Minister on industry affairs, for a four-year term.
